Food trucks have been growing in popularity in recent years, as they have found a place to park in cities all over the country. Now these trucks are making their way into weddings and other events, according to NPR.
Nida Rodriguez owns The Slide Ride, a food truck in Chicago that serves gourmet sandwiches, recently decided to do some catering – and it has been successful. She caters events of all kinds including weddings – already she has 10 weddings booked this summer, according to the news source.
Food trucks aren’t exactly for a traditional wedding, but those couples who are planning a wedding on a budget and are willing to forgo some of the logistics, many find these trucks to be the perfect caterer for their nuptials, the media outlet reports.
According to The Daily Meal, many brides and grooms have been taking advantage of food trucks for a late night snack for people after the reception or they will hire one to come out in between the ceremony and the reception so the guests have something to do.
Fashion and wedding dress designer Vera Wang recently released a new application for smartphones, which helps brides-to-be who are planning a wedding, according to The Huffington Post.
The application includes more than 1,000 pictures of cakes, dresses, flowers and stationary to help planners pick what they like. It also includes tons of articles related to wedding planning along with the ability to track the couple’s guest list – so they need no extra help to manage the details, according to the news source.
When it comes to the beautiful wedding dress the bride will wear, Wang advises women to ensure they give themselves enough time to look.
“A bride should look at everything she possibly can and try on all the different possibilities, just so she can experiment and see what makes her really feel beautiful or glamorous or classic, or whatever she desires to be on her wedding day,” Wang told the news source.
Wang is known for her fabulous wedding dresses, but has recently expanded her line to include wedding bands, engagement rings and other beautiful jewels.
It seems one of the common trends for the upcoming year is brides and grooms personalizing their wedding. Every aspect of the reception and ceremony is becoming a reflection of the couple who is tying the knot.
Brides are also taking their time before choosing a beautiful wedding dress to ensure they are certain they chose the right one.
“The trend for 2012 is all about personalization,” said designer Henry Roth. “When a woman chooses a dress, it’s truly a passionate, emotional and life-changing experience. By creating a one-on-one relationship between design-house and bride-to-be, we’re forging a personal connection that makes the whole experience that much more magical.”
Brides and grooms are shifting from the traditional aspects of a wedding and are making it more about themselves. More weddings will not feature old traditions if the couple does not feel connected to it in some way. This is also an effective way for those who are planning a wedding on a budget, as they are evaluating what they find necessary for their reception and ceremony.
