We had the most wonderful time in Santa Fe for our Enchanting Engagement Wedding Soiree. The Hilton Santa Fe was great to work with. We received so many compliments from brides, saying how enjoyable the event was. The energy in the room was amazing! Thank you to our following sponsors, we could not have done it without you!
Many couples question whether they want to throw an engagement party or not, and it has a number of pros and cons to go with it. First of all, couples are able to announce and celebrate their amazing news to close family and friends. Also, it is a fantastic way for the two families to get to know each other before the real wedding planning begins.
However, it also adds some pressure when it comes to the guest list, as the couple needs to finalize their list much earlier because they shouldn’t invite someone to the engagement party and not the wedding. Also, financially it can come some added pressure, so those who are planning a wedding on a budget may want to steer clear of this event.
Couples who decide to throw one of these fun bashes need to keep a few things in mind. When it comes to hosting, anyone can do so – if it’s a friend of the family of the bride or groom, there is no set rule. There is also no set rule when it comes to what type of event it is, it can be a formal affair, a cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres or a family barbeque.
Each year the color experts at Pantone announce the most striking colors that will take the fashion and interior design industries by storm, and within those selections, they designate a color of the year. For spring 2012, that color is Tangerine Tango (Pantone 17-1463). A bold reddish-orange hue that is sure to look fabulous in bridesmaid dresses, florals, linens and everything else in between.
We predict the tangerine craze taking over color pallets for spring and summer 2012 wedding. It’s a fresh and flirty color that evokes happiness whenever you see it! Are you linking Tangerine Tango? How would you incorporate the color into your big day?

Most can agree that they want their wedding day to be everything they ever wanted. Planning a wedding on a budget still allows a bride and groom to have the nuptials of their dreams, but it is important to remember what the budget is, as getting carried away can easily happen, according to The Globe and Mail.
The rule of thumb is to make a budget before anything else, and make sure that the bride and groom stick to it. Prioritize the big day, if a bride loves flowers but isn’t big on dessert, find a way to save a couple dollars here and there, the media outlet reports.
According to the Business Insider, it is equally important that guests of a wedding do not exceed their budget as well. In some instances, bridesmaids are able to say “no” to something that seems a bit to lavish, especially if it leaves a wallet quite thin. Guests can save a couple dollars by buying a gift with a group or only purchase a gift for one event – there is no need to get a separate little something for the wedding, bridal shower, bachelorette party and engagement party.

Wedding trends come and go, and sometimes they seem to never fade. However, recently engaged couples can leave the idea of vintage weddings behind them and make room for the other popular inspirations to surface, according to the Huffington Post.
Even though vintage weddings bring out the beauty of an older era, it can become out dated – quickly, especially when it comes to the photos.
“Wedding photography should tell a different story each time,” Robert Evans, an expert in wedding photography, told the news source. “If you buy into the recent fad, your wedding photographs will quickly become dated before their time. Every vintage wedding I see looks exactly the same, as if there is a set of directions on how to shoot it!”
Formal and regal weddings are what is taking the place of vintage, as brides and grooms are opting for classic and elegant venues, the media outlet reports.

It was the annual 4th of July parade in Audubon, New Jersey, and the leading car stopped in front of a resident’s home, much to the woman’s surprise. The mayor, who got out of the car, walked up to engaged Rebecca Spurlock, and asked if she was ready to get married, according to Courier Post Online.
Everyone else knew what was going on as her now husband, George Rettbeg, set the whole thing up, according to the news source.
“I have been talking about this all year long – that it would be cool to get married on the Fourth of July, but George had said it was not going to be possible because of a paperwork delay. Everybody knew but me,” Spurlock told the news provider.
The two were married right then and there, and her wedding dress consisted of a red, white and blue outfit.
Holiday weddings is a popular idea among many brides and grooms-to-be. According to American Bridal, for those who decide to plan a wedding on a holiday should send invitations three months prior instead of the usual two.
