Being a bridesmaid is becoming expensive

Brianne Bricker has been a bridesmaids in nine weddings in just two years, and the 24-year-old does not think she can afford another. In fact, she turned a friend down, according to CNN.

“From the moment they announce the engagement, to the day your friend walks down the aisle, if that’s a year and a half, you don’t realize that you’ve spent $1,600,” Bricker told the news source.

According to the Columbia Tribune, Deborah Lynn has been a bridesmaid in 15 weddings, and finally had to back out of the last one due to high stress.

“She said, ‘We need these necklaces, and you have to get these earrings. You need to go here and do this, and you need to go here and do that.’ I told her, ‘You know what? I can’t do it,'” Lynn told the news source. “Every day there was something more to do with the wedding. And most of them seemed to involve gifts.”
