Let’s face it Wedding planning is a lot of work, there are so many things to consider and sometimes certain aspects have to be put on the  back burner, but please, whatever you do, don’t let it be the music! Your music will set the tone and energy of your reception and your selections deserve some serious thought.

HOH BLOG: Every time I’m driving in the car and a new love song comes on the radio, I immediately think how perfect it would be for a first dance song. The words that artists use to evoke emotions from those who listen, is an art form in and of itself.

When it comes time to select your first dance song, there are many factors that go in to the selection process. Obviously picking a song that captures the definition of your love for one another can be a rather hefty decision.

With the ever evolving door of new music, I have put together a list of the best modern songs for your first dance.

  1. Stay With You– John Legend
  2. Love Me Like You Do– Ellie Goulding
  3. Night Changes – One Direction
  4. Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
  5. XO  – Beyonce
  6. Like I’m Gonna Lose You – Meghan Trainer ft. John Legend
  7. Lay Me Down – Sam Smith
  8. All of Me – John Legend
  9. A Thousand Years– Christina Perri
  10. Love Someone– Jason Mraz
