Wedding Favors Your Guests Really Want

With everyone cozied up in their homes, now is the time to focus on the important aspects of life like family, good health, and dreams for your future – it’s also the perfect time to do a little bit of wedding planning!

These are crazy times, but the Wedding Collective team is still here working hard to ensure that local couples are making connections with local vendors. Staying and supporting local is key, especially right now when everyone needs it most. We’re all in this together!

A great way to support local wedding creatives is to replace the items that you would buy online or from a chain with hand-made goods. There’s no need to worry about breaking the bank, because there are plenty of creatives that understand the struggle and offer incredible prices for high quality and unique products. Plus, you’ll be supporting the local economy and saving the environment, as well.

The easiest place to get started is with wedding favors! Your guests will always appreciate taking home a little memento from the day. Not a fan of generic wedding favors lined up on generic shopping aisle shelves? We get it and we couldn’t be anymore with you. We’ve pulled together our top 3 picks for local wedding favors that your guests will actually love, so keep on reading!

1. Natural Products

via K and C Naturals

All-natural wedding favors are always a good idea, especially when they are hand-crafted! By choosing a local business like K and C Naturals, you know exactly where your ingredients come from + their allergy free. These goodies are made with love, for the ones you love.

2. Personalized Items

via Purplumm

Everybody loves to receive a gift that has been chosen from the heart. Purplumm can help you create unique labels for wine bottles, gift boxes, candles, tea bags – need we say more? Choose the favors that will stand out!

via Celina’s Biscochitos

This one is for all of the foodies out there! Tasty treats, like Celina’s Biscochitos, are guaranteed to win all of the hearts at your wedding. Local baked goods are fresh, high-quality, and most always customized to your liking. Incorporate the beautiful New Mexican culture into your food, decor, and the keepsakes that are taken home to be enjoyed after a long day.

New Mexico History & Culture: Celina’s Biscochitos

Beloved New Mexico, you never cease to amaze us with your abundance of talented people who have a strong connection to their culture. We are so fortunate to work with a quite a few of these individuals who let their passions and love of their history guide them through their work. We would be silly if we didn’t share these local wedding vendors with the world, so without further ado, we would like to introduce you to Celina’s Biscochitos!

Celina’s Biscochitos started when Celina decided to carry a family tradition by reimagining what she could do with her grandmother’s recipe for biscochitos. Like many of our other driven vendors, Celina was able to create a successful business from the ground up with her love of “sweetness” guiding the way. What makes Celina’s Biscochitos unique, though, is that she did it all in just about 6 years and was able to put her own spin on a classic tradition.

Here at Perfect Wedding Guide, we love to take risks and try new things. This is why we admire Celina’s Biscochitos so much, because her company takes it to the next level and they aren’t afraid to be different. In fact, they completely embrace it! Have you ever heard of a green chile pecan biscochito? What about a pumpkin pie biscochito bar? Yep, it was a first for us too! These are just a couple of the delicious flavors that they offer alongside the traditional biscochito that we New Mexicans love so much. We can’t forget to mention the special shapes cookies that they have to offer as well!

Classic. Authentic. Delicious. This is how we would describe Celina’s Biscochitos. Even though the company prides itself on innovation and uniqueness, Celina still believes that the classic ingredients of a biscochito and the family traditions behind the recipe build the foundation of a great cookie. And we love that.

We’re getting hungry just thinking about all of these sweets—we wish we could get cookies delivered straight to Perfect Wedding Guide‘s door. Actually, come to think of it, we can! Celina’s Biscochitos ships goodies Monday through Friday to almost everywhere in the United States (some restrictions do apply). If you’re a local or just visiting Albuquerque, make sure to stop by their shop at 404 Osuna Rd. NW, Ste A, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM  87107.

5 New Wedding Food + Catering Businesses in New Mexico

It seems as though we’ve finally made it over the hump of wishy-washy spring weather here in New Mexico. At last, our days are filled with reliable sunshine, little desert flowers blooming in the sidewalk cracks, and that wide open sky for which we’re famed. As things start to warm up and settle into the season though, that also signals the crunch-time part of wedding planning for our engaged couples getting married in the summer and fall. For our lovely fall weddings — we’re already looking forward to your warm hues and undeniable coziness — you’re probably right around the 6 month mark on your countdown.  Which means the big things, like your caterer, need to be locked down like, right now.

Luckily for the both of us, our Perfect Wedding Guide team has had the opportunity to connect with some local wedding professionals who dedicate their skills and love for weddings to food. We’ve put together a few of our new favorites — whether they’re new to New Mexico, new to us, or just doing something new that inspires us.

So, you might want to grab a snack for this particular New Mexico wedding vendor round-up, ’cause its a tasty one.

1. Celina’s Biscochitos

If we want to start with dessert, whose going to stop us?! Especially when up on the table are a dozen of Celina’s Biscochitos. For years, Celina has been perfecting the recipe which we all so love here in New Mexico. With new flavors that push the boundaries of tradition like red or green chile and café lattes, Celina combines all the comfort of a biscochito with innovative surprises.

2. UNM Food

Everything from French-style service, high class Hors d’oeuvres, to home-style, traditional New Mexican food is possible. 4. Chello Grill

Ah, and then our dear Chello Grill. As mediterranean food lovers, we might be a bit biased toward their savory dishes, which are always, somehow, both bursting with flavor and melting in your mouth at the same time. Breaking away from what we think of as ‘traditional’ wedding food, their kabobs, fresh salads, and authentic Persian stews provide a delicious complement to your celebration of love.

5. Europa

We simply had to include Europa here again, even though we just did a whole feature on the Los Lunas wedding venue slash floral farm slash organic catering business. If supporting local, farm-fresh food is important to you and your wedding guests, then look no further than Europa. You can grab some organic floral arrangements while you’re at it, too, and rest assured that neither your buffet or bouquet will have any creepy dyes or toxins — just pure, wholesome goodness.
