Wedding Venue Hotspots in New Mexico {Part One!}

When you stop and consider the New Mexico landscape for a moment, it really comes as no surprise that visual industries are on the rise in our home state. Film, design, fine art, architecture — every medium has an inspiration because, well, we have everything! Mountains and mesas, high and low desert, urban cityscapes, lush forests, and small towns are all in abundance, which makes for varied and personal experiences with the state for all who visit or reside.

Finding a wedding venue, then, is at once the easiest and most difficult decision you’ll have to make while planning your wedding in New Mexico. Easier than ever before because, as wide a range of landscapes to choose from, is the type of venue within those places. From traditional New Mexican adobe and Spanish-inspired cathedrals, to crisp modern art spaces and whimsical woodland cabins, there’s a venue for pretty much every vibe. So whatever dream wedding fantasy you’ve got tucked away on your Pinterest or even just your subconscious, New Mexico has you covered.

With such an incredible variety to choose from though, and every option is gorgeous in its own exceptional way, the decision-making can become a bit overwhelming. So we, from our unique vantage point between engaged couples and local wedding businesses, compiled 18 of New Mexico’s hottest spots for ceremonies and receptions. Starting with the just the first three in the series, these venues have been vetted and are certified beautiful, with incredible teams of dedicated wedding pros behind the curtains. Keep an eye out for the rest of our absolute favorite venues as part of the hotspots feature!

Trend Alert! Snow in Spring with Cutmaster Music

Happy spring equinox, you beautiful brides-to-be! This winter was pretty mild here in New Mexico, but we can still celebrate the warmer weather coming, right? Right. Unfortunately though, with such a pleasant holiday season behind us, our chances for seeing one of the most magnificent natural occurrences is behind us now.

{Snow!}

It’s true! Even if you’re not a fan of the cold, like me, you have to admit that snow, with all its delicate glistening glory, is unlike anything else. Nothing beats watching your whole city wake up softened and calmed by a blanket of powder, all from the haven of your toasty warm bed. Plus, if you’re living in the desert like we are, it’s rare presence is all the more special.

{Getting a little carried away here, can you tell we’ve been feeling very snow deprived?}

So thank goodness for Cutmaster Music! As if their team wasn’t already known for the unparalleled fun they bring to every wedding, party, and event, now they’re offering falling snow. Yes, you read that right — falling snow for your wedding!

No matter the time of year now, with the help of Cutmaster Music, you can beckon the ephemeral elegance of a gentle winter snow to celebrate your union of love. Does it get anymore romantic than that?

{But wait — is it messy? That was my first thought too. Well, second thought — my first was “That’s amazing, can I hire them to just make it snow outside my bedroom window?” But the answer is no — it’s not even a little messy! Instead of pieces of plastic, paper, or anything else that might leave a trace, this snow evaporates before it even hits the floor. No cleaning, just dreamy.}

Cutmaster Music team, thank you so much for this. The Albuquerque + Santa Fe wedding community had no idea we what we were missing.

Contact Cutmaster Music for your wedding or celebration here, and get a little taste of the snowflakes below! Videography by Emily Joanne.

Renee + Jerod { Bold Urban-Chic Rooftop Elopement}

What would you do if your wedding photographer stood you up on your wedding day? Unfortunately our next couple experienced this true life wedding nightmare first hand and holy cow, I am getting a rash just thinking about it!  Lucky for them a couple years down the road they became good friends with one of the top wedding planners in Albuquerque, NM- Alena of Alena Swanson LLCRenee often discussed what she “wished their wedding would have been”, and Alena listened. Incorporating their original wedding colors of pink, cream and white, she was inspired to gather the best wedding pros in ABQ and create their dream wedding elopement shoot. This shoot was a total surprise to the model bride, who only found out days before.

From the planner, Alena:  “Using an ombre of pink and rose gold, the bling, glitter and boldness of black reflect their classy but quirky personalities. Together, they love books and reading; and every detail reflects this as well, through scrabble tiles, ampersands, and stacked book centerpieces– all the bride’s favorite things!

To get just the right color, every detail was hand crafted by wedding pros, from her pink hair to her glittery heels. The pros were so thoughtful in remaking their dream wedding- they are even eating pink strawberry cake! This unique couple loves the rare and unusual, yet beautiful things in life, so I kept this in mind when choosing pink ginger flowers, the industrial location, rose gold jewelry, and a blush wedding dress.

This type of stylized shoot sincerely emulates the spirit of the wedding industry as we bless others on their special day and do our best to go above and beyond.”

The joy of this once in a lifetime experience is real in these stunning photos, a huge thanks to  Emily Joanne Wedding Films & Photography

From the photographer:  {Emily Joanne Wedding Films + Photography}

With each wedding we do, we get the opportunity to meet amazing and unique couples and Yuki and George were no exception.  From the moment we met these two, George’s charm and Yuki’s beauty were breathtaking.  Not only was photographing their day an extreme pleasure, but just getting to know these two was something special.  The chemistry, love, adventure, and honor between them just resonated throughout their entire wedding day.  I cannot say enough about what a special couple they are.

The wedding itself was filled with personal details that set the stage for such a special event, from Japanese and English programs, to specialty sushi served at cocktail hour (the bride’s New Mexican inspired recipe). Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm set a stunning backdrop to the day, and was a photographer’s dream come true!
