Casi Sueno: Elegance in Action

A lifetime of beautiful memories starts with a beautiful beginning.

When we first had the pleasure of working with Genevieve, of Casi Sueno Weddings + Events, it was at our 2017 Wedding Gallery wedding show. We had asked our participating business owners to style their booths and space with “greek chic” in mind, and, yes, everyone brought their A-game and we’re truly, eternally grateful… But Casi Sueno‘s takeover of one of Sandia Resort and Casino’s ballrooms had us floored.

Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to see the Casi Sueno team bring love to life for their couples all over Albuquerque. But honestly? I’m still not quite over their Wedding Gallery design.

Not only did they bring our wildest, greek-related fantasies to life, but their team far surpassed what we imagined possible for a wedding show here in New Mexico. {Because, as everyone knows, trends usually take a little longer to sweep the Albuquerque + Santa Fe wedding world than in other places like New York, Denver, L.A., etc.}

Casi Sueno Weddings + Events, ever-devoted to creating unforgettable moments, did exactly that for our Perfect Wedding Guide team, and all the incredible local brides who attended the show. It was hard to not feel spoiled! But, not only are they committed to excellence, and proudly known for their service-oriented work — Genevieve and her team bring both an otherworldliness here to Albuquerque, and a genuine love for celebration and design. Being motivated by a pure passion for what they do, there’s no need to feel spoiled when the Casi Sueno team transforms your wedding day, only grateful.

From start to finish, Casi Sueno Weddings + Events ushers your perfect wedding into existence. To bring your dream to life, you can contact their team for packages + availability here.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be reliving the Wedding Gallery show with the stunning photos from Casi Sueno Wedding + Events‘ design below.

Bride’s Night Out: 2018

Wedding shows aren’t everyone’s jam. Sometimes, spending your Sunday in a bustling crowd, chatting with local vendors just isn’t in the cards, and that’s totally okay! Which is why our Perfect Wedding Guide team tries to shake it up a bit.

Bride’s Night Out {which is just around the corner!} isn’t your typical wedding show. As the name of the event might indicate, it’s more of a night-on-the-town. You can bring your bridesmaids, best friends, soon-to-be-spouse, or just cruise around solo at Hotel Andaluz from 6 – 8pm on May 17, 2018. With a shorter show and a more intimate setting, the Bride’s Night Out is swanky and fun, and personally, my favorite event.

Albuquerque + Santa Fe’s best and brightest vendors come together for this night to create an experience for you. Like Isleta Resort, whose team had free lip scrub samples from their spa, and mini lipstick demos that left every engaged couple sparkling. Or Nature Pointe, with their adorable cookies + treats for you to take home, and of course, Selfie Sensation‘s super fun photo booth.

Plus, the first 50 couples who enter in the magnificence of Hotel Andaluz are given swag bags that are bursting with coupons, goodies, and wedding planning tips, all from local vendors. It’s not hard to be early either! Ibiza, Hotel Andaluz‘s rooftop lounge + bar, is the perfect place to hang out before the show. {Not to mention, it’s the best photo op spot for you Instagrammers out there.}

Then there’s the games, giveaways, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and glamour. Basically, this event is a girl’s night out, but with wedding planning and tons of free stuff included, too. You can unwind, meet some incredible business owners, and win prizes in one of Albuquerque’s most beautiful, historic venues.

So there you have it! We’ll see you there, right? Right. Text your bridesmaids and tell them to clear their calendar for the evening of May 17, 2018, and grab your tickets below.

Extreme Wedding Proposals

Some grooms go all out when they pop the big question. This morning while getting ready for work, I was watching Good Morning America and one there featured stories was Extreme Wedding Proposals. It was a competition that people were able to submit their ideas and the winner had their proposal aired on this popular morning show. The winner was a man who wanted to propose to his girlfriend of 4 years while skydiving!

Kyle Monroe took his girlfriend skydiving and while they were racing downward through the sky, Liz saw a huge sign laying on her landing location, “Will You Marry Me. ” Imagine her shock, having your stomach already turned from jumping out of a plane and then seeing those words that every girl dream of! What a great way to propose. Liz accepted his proposal and was greeted by cheering family and friends. Do you have an idea or have you heard of an extreme proposal, leave a comment.

Nicole Richie reportedly in the midst of planning a wedding

Is Nicole Richie about to become a bride? According to recent reports, the skinny starlet and her hunky fiancé, Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden, are currently preparing to become man and wife.

While there’s been much gossip in the past about the two brainstorming creative wedding ideas, it looks like this time it’s the real deal. In fact, Gather.com reports that Richie took an impromptu vacation with her gal pals to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for what could only be a wild bachelorette party.

In attendance were some super-famous celebrities, which included pop star sensation Christina Aguilera, as well as sisters Samantha and Charlotte Ronson. And, what was written on Aguilera’s t-shirt was a doozy.

According to the news source, the Genie in a Bottle chanteuse was sporting a top with the words “Nicole’s bachelorette party, 9/17/10” written on the back, while “Tickle your chi chis with Miss Richie” was spotted on the front.

Perhaps the dynamic duo is planning on scouting destination wedding venues and getting hitched south of the border?

Planning an Engagement Party

An engagement party is the first pre-wedding event to celebrate your new relationship status. If you’ve yet to announce the news to family and friends, it’s also the perfect place to tell everyone for the first time, at the same time. Whether you’re throwing the shindig on your own or leaving the work to someone else, here are suggestions for planning an engagement party.

WHO TO INVITE

Your engagement party invite list should include family, close friends and those you plan to include in the wedding party. Ideally, anyone invited to the wedding should also be invited to the engagement party. However, it’s OK keep the guest list small and intimate if you so choose.

WHEN TO HAVE YOUR ENGAGEMENT PARTY

You should schedule your engagement party somewhat soon after the proposal—especially if you’re planning a short engagement. Whatever date you set, allow enough time for those who may be traveling in for the event.

HOW TO INVITE (STYLES OF INVITATIONS)

The style of invitations used for your engagement party should reflect the type of party you’re planning. For instance, a backyard bar-b-cue is less stuffy and formal, so sending an Evite is a perfectly acceptable option. But if you’ve got your heart set on a cocktail party in a hotel ballroom, elegant paper invitations are the way to go.

WHAT TO SERVE

No matter if it’s passed hors d’oeuvres or burgers and brats on the grill, your menu should reflect not only the tone of your party, but also your personality as a couple. For a touch of originality, establish a theme with your dishes, like cuisine reflective of your ethnic background or fare with an indigenous flair. Top it all off by serving signature cocktails.

WHAT TO DO

Eat, drink and be merry! And what celebration would be complete without music? Enlist the help of a DJ or band or make your own playlist to get everyone grooving out on the dance floor.

Lastly, remember to set aside time to thank everyone for coming and to allow loved ones to toast to the occasion. Your engagement party is a special time that you’ll want to remember forever. Follow these suggestions for a fun and stress-free event that everyone will enjoy.
