Since the rebirth of the Albuquerque + Santa Fe Perfect Wedding Guide team ten years ago, the driving motivation behind everything we do has been our local wedding community. Having a personal relationship with some of the most inspiring business owners makes the hard work we put in to every event, giveaway, and of course, our magazine, totally worth it.
Not only do we love being able to introduce local engaged couples to photographers, officiants, DJs that we know on a first name basis, but it’s important to us that we match up couples with vendors that we know can make their dreams come true. We can only do that by really getting to know each business — their goals and dreams, and even their personality quirks, which we find endearing.
So, why not share the same courtesy with our amazing readers and engaged couples?! Our team is tight-knit and we rely on each other a lot, but we’re also constantly learning more about one another too. We often do little games during our Monday morning meetings, and wanted to introduce ourselves to you with a particularly fun one. We made acronyms describing our personality using the letters in our names which, I must add, is much harder than it sounds if you have a “z” in your name.
Grab some tea or coffee and scroll on! Meet our team and comment your own acronym below.
It’s that time again and we couldn’t be more excited! Our annual business-to-business speed networking event is taking place, once again, at the lovely Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm. If you have not had a chance to visit Los Poblanos, this is the perfect opportunity to see and experience this hidden gem in the heart of the city! Not only will you bask in the beautiful surroundings, but you will also cultivate vital relationships with other local wedding professionals to take your business to the next level.
Seating is limited to 100 and we only have a handful of seats left! Don’t wait, registration is required to attend this one-of-a-kind event. Not to mention, cost includes a complimentary cocktail and gourmet hors d’oeuvres.
Remember, business opportunities come from a variety of sources and referrals are certainly one of them. To gain referrals, however, you need to make meaningful face-to-face connections. So do yourself a favor and give your business a boost at this speed networking event unlike any other. And make sure to bring a networking buddy or wedding colleague!
By attending, you will:
Generate social media buzz about your brand.
Give your business a stronger presence in the wedding community.
Properly position yourself to stand out from your competitors.
More importantly, you will cultivate long lasting business relationships to:
Maximize your time by meeting a host of professionals in one setting.
Do more than just pass a card — chat one-on-one!
Expand your connections and increase your circle of influence.
Exchange ideas, contacts and share your vision!
Once all participants are seated, the speed networking sessions will begin. During each fast-paced session, participants will network face-to-face. At the end of each session, participants will quickly alternate their seating arrangements for their next networking opportunity. In just a few minutes, participants will share business cards, bios, history and offer new contacts with valuable information about their business.
Who do you know that might need their services?
Who has a similar client base and might refer engaged couples?
How might each company do business with one another?
Can you introduce them to anyone who can help them?

On the morning of April 21st, The Perfect Wedding Guide Team headed over to Classic Event + Tent Rentals for a casual networking event. We planned on having a simple get-together with coffee and some snacks, but we were pleasantly surprised with gorgeous table settings by Classic, charming arrangements by Charlotte’s Flowers, and a tasty breakfast from Lettuce Cater. It was so wonderful to walk into the space and see Classic’s staff’s talent. They transformed the space into a charming venue, making it so nice to sit down and discuss life with some of Albuquerque’s finest vendors. When we talked with them, we got to see how much they care for their clients and all the hard work that goes into making each couple feel uniquely special. This event was a blast, and it gave everyone the opportunity to not only discuss business, but build relationships.
This little meet-up was so much fun. The unexpected effort from the different businesses just went to show how much our advertisers care. They go above and beyond to make everything they participate in look and feel special.
Special thanks to these vendors, we couldn’t have done this without you:
When planning networking luncheons for our clients we have a very clear objective- we want vendors to know each other well and enjoy working together . We feel that this will ensure that your special day is pulled off without a hitch. By continuously connecting wedding based businesses, we feel that we are helping to reinforce good relationships among them. Our networking luncheons would not be possible without the help of our fabulous sponsors.
Our next luncheon is being held at the beautiful La Fonda on the Plaza on July 10th from 11:30am-1pm and we are lucky to have so many awesome sponsors to help make this event a memorable one.
Here are a couple of images of our past networking luncheons and also video links so you can see first
hand what they are all about!

Shauna Pointer and Melanie Martinez of Perfect Wedding Guide Albuquerque/ Santa Fe ventured off to the Wedding MBA conference in Las Vegas Nevada this past October. While there, they picked up some very important ideas, tips and tricks in terms of not only running a successful business but also, how to stay relevant in the ever changing and evolving wedding market. They thought most of the information would also be helpful to many New Mexican PWG advertisers as well. They put their notes together in an effort to share this important information with others. They touched on everything from how to address good and bad internet reviews to the importance of staying up to date with technological advances. These ideas are somewhat common however, need to be reiterated day to day as vital business practices. The Hyatt Regency Albuquerque generously offered their space and also provided a delicious brunch for the meeting.Who doesn’t like a good frittata? Not to mention delicious yogurt with fresh fruit , straight out of the oven spinach danishes and out- of- this- world gingerbread scones. 50 plus advertisers of Perfect Wedding Guide came together on 12-12-12 for the informative recap of the event and it was refreshing to be in the presence of such strong minded individuals. It was not only a presentation but moreover a time for discussion and insights as well. Overall It was a very fun and enlightening morning!
Perfect Wedding Guide’s Great Diamond Dash Bridal Show on Sunday, October 21, at the Albuquerque Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa was a huge success! The day consisted of a very enlightening Q&A session from local wedding experts, a New York fashion week worthy fashion show, and five lucky brides diving into a wedding cake in search of a diamond necklace. We’ve never had so many competitive brides. It even turned into a cake fight!
This show simply would not have been possible without the help of our amazing sponsors. A big thank you goes out to Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa who hosted the event. Their professional and dedicated staff was very accommodating and assisted us in every way possible. From an intimate group of 10 to parties of 900, Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa will work with you to create the ideal setting for any occasion.
We were very lucky to have the New Mexico Wedding Professionals at the event schooling us on the ins and outs of planning the perfect wedding. Empire Strings (a local string quartet) were music to our ears. They set the lively tone of the event by playing during registration.
The fashion show was styled by Darlene with Bridal Elegance and Mr. TuxFormal Wear. Each piece showcased remarkable examples of the hottest wedding trends to date. The looks were topped off with gorgeous bridal bouquets provided by Charlotte’s Flowers, stunning hair and makeup provided by Bliss Salon & Spa, and dazzling jewelry provided by Premier Designs by Kris. Classic Party Rentals provided the stage draping and upgraded linens, which gave the space a very alluring feel.
King Mobile Musicwas at the event keeping us all very entertained and informed during the Great Diamond Dash. I have to admit it was hard to watch five lucky ladies
demolish a truly delectable looking cake provided by ABC Cake shop and Bakery but it was all in great fun, especially for bride –to- be, Samantha Wintermute, who was lucky enough to discover the diamond necklace! None of the lucky ladies left empty handed as the cake also contained a $200 gift certificate to Bridal Elegance by Darlene, a manicure and pedicure courtesy of Bliss Salon and Spa, a $500 gift certificate to King Mobile Music, and a gift certificate for a complimentary engagement session and one 8 x10 print courtesy of Kevin’s Photography– who was also there to capture the fun and excitement of the afternoon.
