She makes sure to keep the emphasis on the couple, while still beautifully incorporating the landscapes and backdrops – which is why we totally love her + her work. We promise you, she’s the “stop scrolling and double take” kind of photographer you’re going to want to follow on every social media app.

“Greg and Ashlee’s wedding was such a dream. It was a perfect New Mexico fall day and everything came together beautifully. Calvary Main Campus was absolutely breathtaking on the day they said: “I DO”.
Even though endless summer days are finally upon us, we can’t help but to look back on some of our favorite fall weddings. There’s just something about the crisp air and the warm colors of the leaves that leave us aching for more. It’s never too early or too late to obsess over autumnal sweetness. After all, you might be planning your upcoming fall wedding and need a little inspo, too!
For Ashlee + Greg, a fall wedding was an absolute must, and it couldn’t have been any more charming. The couple, having the warmest and gentle personalities, wanted to create an experience that celebrated both their love for each other and their spirituality. With the help of their chosen wedding vendors and the wedding venue, they made their ideal day, and so much more, possible.
Ashlee + Greg love the idea of simplicity and decided that this would be the perfect way to go about their wedding. Choosing the elements that would make up their wedding came easy, and they relied heavily on their faith to create a beautiful day for each other and their family + friends. Even though simple was the key for these two, there was certainly no lack of detail and memorable moments.
One of the most important elements that Ashlee + Greg knew they wanted for their special day was a photographer that could freeze moments in time that could be looked back on for decades to come. If you are in the wedding planning process, you know that choosing your photographer is no easy task, so the couple definitely had their hands full. At the end of the day, there was one photographer that stood out above them all, and it was a no-brainer. They chose the wildly talented Cecilia of Fender Photography – the perfect match for their warm, charming, fall wedding! You can check out the gallery below to see how the magic came to life for the adorable couple.

Rayne Photography went above and beyond to give you all the inside scoop, so sit back, sip on that soothing cup of coffee, and get ready to be on the search for your fave photographer.
Why should I book a local wedding photographer? Do I really need a wedding photographer?
Hiring local is key when planning your day. As a wedding community, we work together to make sure your day runs smoothly. We gather for events to learn and grow together and get to know each other. We also know the gorgeous New Mexico scenery best! Your wedding day is one of those BIG moments in your life and for most, only happens one time. You spend months gathering details and meeting with vendors to make your wedding your dream wedding. The day comes and goes so so quickly and soon all you will have left are the photos to remind you of the moments throughout your day. When you reach your 50th anniversary you will have a beautiful gallery to cherish…and when you are gone, your grandbabies will continue to cherish those memories and pass them down for generations to come. Hiring a photographer is a huge part of keeping the memory of your day alive and all of the stress and hard work that went into it worth it.
What should I keep in mind when hiring a wedding photographer?
What should I keep in mind when hiring a wedding photographer? Each wedding photographer has their own style in editing, photographing and their own personalities. It’s important to make sure you are choosing someone who you work well with, who you get along with and have a good time with. Afterall, they spend the most time with you on your wedding day compared to any other vendor. You want to make sure they are someone you don’t mine spending the day with. It’s also important to choose a photographer whose style you are most attracted to. If you are looking for moodier photographs, you should only be talking with photographer that have moodier galleries. We are each our own artist. We paint the photograph differently. The last big thing I think is important when choosing your photographer is deciding if you value formal photographs that are posed, or if you value more natural moments captured. Be sure to notice patterns in each of our styles all around and choose the one that stands out to you the most!
What questions should I ask my wedding photographer?
I think this depends on what you value most as far as what you want photographed for your big day. Be vocal with your expectations and what you value hen meeting with photographers. We may not all be the right fit for you, but the more you tell us, we know the community best and can guide you to a photographer that is right for you. Your wedding is unique to you and your story, the more we know about your story and your vision for the day, the better! I love to get to know couples before I even begin talking about pricing and packages because I want them to feel comfortable with me as a person and friend.
Give us a rundown of what a typical wedding day looks like through the lens of a photographer.
What does a typical wedding day look like through my lens? Full of raw moments. From the time I arrive and begin testing lighting all the way through the end of the night, my focus is always to capture the wedding day as it was, the laughs, the tears, the embarrassing moments, all of it. By the time your wedding day arrives, I have been noting all of the most important parts of your day to you and your spouse and am constantly on the look out for them. If your grandparents play a huge role in your day, I am always on the look out for moments shared with them. If having a first touch is important to you, we will do everything to make sure it happens, even if that means gathering the groomsmen to build a secret service circle around you to get you to your groom without being seen by your guests who have begun arriving. During the ceremony we look out for the moments of emotion and laughter. We capture your day from every angle for you to experience and remember the day from different perspectives, perspectives that not a single other person in the room will every have without the photograph. Most importantly, on your wedding day you have a goofy friend who is just excited to be freezing this day for you forever.
We love everything about New Mexico, from the sunsets to the authentic and delicious cuisine. There is something that really stands out, though – the people. We are fortunate enough to live in one of the most unique states in the whole country where our communities are close-knit and utterly diverse. This is why so many eager couples travel from all over the world just to come experience a wedding in the Land of Enchantment.
For one particular local, New Mexico is both home base and canvas. Enter Lucas Stein Designs, one of the newest additions to our Perfect Wedding Guide family! We love to welcome local vendors that are passionate about their work and our state, and we are especially thrilled when they’re making big moves in the industry. Lucas Stein has made his mark countless times while working on local film sets in many departments, and now he is focusing his energy on capturing stunning photos of couples. Yeah, he can pretty much do everything.
Lucas Mathew Stein has worked on movie sets and television shows for the past 21 years. He has served as a Director, an Executive Producer, Assistant Director, Production Coordinator, Transportation Captain, Personal Assistant, Medic/Massage & Bodymind Therapist to celebrities and crew; he is now focusing his energies towards the art of photography.
In every bit of his work, he makes sure to use New Mexico as his canvas to create authentic and high quality images. Something that we enjoy so much about his photography is the unique stylistic choices he makes. Unlike many of the recent trends in wedding photography, vibrant colors and editorial style poses make everything come together perfectly, all while making sure that the couple and their love for each other is still at the forefront.

Come enjoy some of this visual deliciousness in honor of Valentine’s Day! We promise, this isn’t your typical holiday shoot.
Coryn Kiefer Photography, an East-coaster whose fallen in love with the Southwest, brought her 20+ years of photography experience and her unparalleled artistic visions together for this out-of-the-box Valentine’s shoot. Collaborating with some incredible local creatives to manifest a modern look on their model, the sequins and bursting blooms contrasted with their location perfectly. Shooting in the Juan Tabo Rock House, the combination of the two elements seemed to reflect Albuquerque as a whole: tied to a deep, rich history, but forward-thinking and always evolving.
Wishing a wonderful Valentine’s Day to all of New Mexico’s darling engaged couples, business owners, and single-pringles too! Enjoy!
Bringing a bit of sparkle to the rustic New Mexico landscape with our Rock Cabin Valentine’s Day inspired shoot. With blankets on hand we hiked up through the snow to one of the remaining rock cabins nested amongst boulders in the Foothills of the Sandia Mountains. The modern bridal fashion of a rose gold sequin dress and brilliant blooms brought warmth to the abandoned cabin built over 90 years ago. It is believed that the name Sandia, which is Spanish for watermelon, was given to the mountains for the pinkish color they turn at sunset which our dress and blooms complemented beautifully.
