Real Moments with Jacqueline Vega Photography

Photography is the story I fail to put into words.

– Jacqueline Vega

Before we welcome a local wedding professional to the Perfect Wedding Guide team, we usually have the pleasure of meeting with them and getting to know their business practices first. Rather than vetting, it’s our way of building a personal relationship with the magnificent people who make up Albuquerque + Santa Fe’s community.

With Jacqueline Vega, or Jackie, it was no different. {Although, I’ll admit, I definitely stalked her Instagram account before we met because, well, it’s beautiful.} Jackie’s sweet and amicable demeanor made the connection with our team almost instant, and we already can’t imagine our PWG photographer family without her. Not only did she take our new team headshots (blog on those coming soon!), but she even took family portraits of our publisher’s beautiful family.

Jackie’s love for photography came at a young age, and her talent at capturing real, authentic moments has been cultivated ever since. This natural inclination paired with her devotion to storytelling emanates from each of her photos, reminding us that photography is an art, not just a business. Though if you ask her, she’ll just say she feels blessed to be living her dream.

And well, we feel blessed to have her on our team! Did that rhyme? Guess her wild + whimsical vibes has me feeling a little poetic today.

I think I’ve gushed about her enough for now, so I’ll let her photos do the rest of the talking. Contact Jackie for questions, booking, and even more eye-candy here.

Wedding Photography Grant + Nicole Bradshaw Photography

As you must know by now, we’re a little bit obsessed with giveaways. What can we say? We love to spoil local brides (and even local vendors too!). From the 12 Months of Giveaways, to free copies of the guide, to our free engagement announcements… So when we heard that one of our favorite local wedding photographers had a gift of her own to pass on, we were ecstatic!

The darling Nicole Bradshaw, of Nicole Bradshaw Photography, is hosting a Wedding Photography Grant!

Here’s what that means: any lovely + local couple who has demonstrated a personal commitment to community service is invited to apply for the Wedding Photography Grant. In exchange for the efforts they’ve made to better the community we all live in, one couple will be awarded free wedding photography service, courtesy of Nicole Bradshaw.

{We’re so inspired by Nicole’s generosity, we wanted to jump in too! As an added little bonus, the winner of Nicole Bradshaw’s Wedding Photography Grant will also be awarded 3 free tickets to our March 4th Diamond Dash Wedding Show, and a free wifey tank top!}

Throughout the years, we’ve met many, many admirable brides and grooms, from school teachers, doctors, to volunteers — Albuquerque + Santa Fe’s best of the best. We’re so proud of Nicole Bradshaw Photography for generously donating her one-of-a-kind talent to give back to a local couple, and can’t wait to see the magic they create together.

{Details on applying + some of our favorite photos from Nicole below!}

Darling Backyard Wedding {Caren + Henry}

Caren and Henry’s love for traveling is one of the many things that drew this adorable couple together so it was no surprise that their early fall wedding would follow suit. The hidden details of their travel theme blended well with their gorgeous color scheme of pink, white, blue and gold.

Before the ceremony, the bride had the sweetest first-look like none I’ve seen before – with her parents. This moment was super sweet and seeing how tight this family is, it certainly added the perfect touch! Of course, she shared some romantic moments with her hubby-to-be, but the first-look with her parents is sure to be a trendsetter!

After some intimate family portraits captured by Arielei Kinzer Photography, it was off to the beautiful, outdoor ceremony that took place at Corrales Winery – the perfect setting for a September wedding. Sunglasses and dried lavender cones were prepared for the guests to partake in their celebration as man and wife.

Once they exchanged vows, they were whisked away in a classic car as their driver chauffeured Caren and Henry off into the sunset and faded into the horizon to their next adventure – their reception, that is. As they were greeted with cheers and well-wishes, they made their way to their backyard reception where they celebrated well into the night.

The reception was adorned with remnants and mementos of their travels around the world together with some of their favorite quotes, demonstrating their deep love for one another. And to top it off, the night was brought to a close as the new couple and their families sent lanterns in the night sky for all the world to see!
“Henry and Caren were married at the scenic Corrales Winery with their aunt as their officiant. They included a wine ceremony into their nuptials, which was a perfect pairing with their winery setting! Afterward, guests headed down the road to Henry’s grandparents’ house for a darling backyard reception where Henry spent many birthday and holiday celebrations as a child. The happy couple was greeted by a procession of guests who tossed lavender as they entered their reception! The day was full of personal touches — like a globe for a guest book and Caren’s furry best friend Honey as her flower girl.”

Kaelee + Stetson {Shabby-Chic Texan Ranch Wedding}

Awe – oh my gosh- you guys,  this next celebration is the shabby-chic Texan Ranch wedding of my dreams! Truly warmed my soul to peruse through the photos and thoughtful details on this cold, dreary winter afternoon. Where in the world would we be without Alena Swanson LLC? She is always there to make sure each detail is perfectly planned + coordinated from beginning to end. Here is what she had to say about being a part of this gorgeous celebration:

[Alena Swanson LLC] ” I’m in love with all the creative DIY decor Christy, the mother of the bride, made for her daughter’s wedding! Check out their handmade signs, photo booth lounge, tables and place settings, burlap chandeliers, wood coasters, and shelving for drink-ware and the candy bar! Although it was hot and then rainy at this Ft. Davis wedding in July, the couple had a dream wedding under the Texas stars, made complete by a sparkler dance.”

Enjoy! -A

PWG Client Spotlight- Loving Image Videography & Music

 Loving Image Videography & Music is owned and run by Sally Townes, a professional musician who fell in love with videography and video editing in 2007 while making music videos. Sally has a keen eye for capturing honest emotion and the authentic atmosphere of an event or wedding. She is truly an artist at heart.  By incorporating everything from the music , to that special moment when Dad walks his little girl down the aisle into a video,  she feels you will be able to truly relive your special day  for a lifetime. Sally is great about capturing all of the very special moments at your wedding without be obtrusive or getting the way, in fact you will hardly know she is there.

Below is a video she did for the union of Julianna and Kip and I think she did a beautiful job. Give it a look!

With all the work that you put into wedding planning, it is surprising how fast your big day can fly by.

That is personally why I believe that it is important to invest in a good photographer and videographer.
